Abstract: Bobenko and Pinkall [1996] gave a discrete Weierstrass represention of minimal surface within the framework of integrable systems, but it was only much later that these surfaces were seen to enjoy vanishing mean curvature within the framework of a more systematic theory of curvatures of discrete surfaces. In this talk we discuss semidiscrete minimal surfaces (resp. cmc surfaces), and the relation between the Weierstrass (resp. Lax) representation on the one hand, and curvatures of surfaces on the other hand. [hide abstract] | |
