Abstract: With the level-set method, it is possible to describe geometries in a very flexible way, allowing for instance also for changes in topology. Time-evolution of the level-set equation allows to perform "steps" in given "shape directions", which form the basis of optimisation strategies. Thus I want to present theoretical results about the solution of this equation, show how "shape derivatives" can be calculated, and finally introduce how the level-set framework can be applied to PDE-constrained shape optimisation.[hide abstract]
