Abstract: Simple drawings, a very intuitive class of (mathematical) graph drawings, have received much attention in the past decade. We discuss combinatorial and structural properties of simple drawings of complete and complete multipartite graphs. More precisely: A drawing is simple if each pair of edges has at most one common point. For a labeled simple drawing, the rotation of a vertex or crossing is the cyclic order of its incident edges. We study the structure of simple drawings and introduce a Gioan-type theorem: Any two simple drawings of a complete multipartite graph with the same rotations of their crossings and vertices can be transformed into each other by a local operation that is called a triangle flip.[hide abstract] | |
