Abstract: Transfer homomorphisms are a key tool in factorization theory, allowing one to study complex structures by relating them to simpler ones. While this method is well developed for domains and cancellative monoids, less is known in the setting of rings with zero-divisors. One way to study such rings is by focusing on their regular elements—those that are not zero-divisors. This talk introduces our main result, which gives conditions under which the regular elements of a subring reflect the factorization properties of a larger ring.[hide abstract]
